This was the centenary year of composer George Lloyd who was born in St Ives on June 28th 1913.
A new documentary film about the composer George Lloyd, produced by local film company Redcliffe Films, was premiered on 17th September 2013 at Society of Artists in St Ives. The film was in association with the George Lloyd Society. It includes some of his best known compositions accompanied by an interview with his nephew William Lloyd and original recordings of George Lloyd talking about life and work set in the context of the Cornish landscape that inspired much of his music. The film was also shown in Truro Cathedral on October 5th .
